Dezi Grows intu a Feisty Kitty

Well so we all came tumblin’ out of da basket and intu da floor wif da second lady. All meez littermates stardid playin’ wif each udder, and bein’ da (runt) littlest of all of us meez didn’t play very much. And me didn’t feel so good eeder. Meez had a big bloated belly (frum da worms) and  didn’t smell tu good cuz meez had da runs and der wuz sum still on me  bloomers. Meez waddled over tu da second lady sittin’ in da floor and crawled up in her lap and stardid purrin’. Meez looked up at her and she had leaky eyes and she looked at da first lady and sed, “This is  my destiny and she will be called, Deztinee.” And den meez stardid squeekin’ and crawled down from her lap and looked around a bit. Not seein’ a litter box, meez squatted and went tu da pawdy rite in da floor and den went rite bak over tu da second lady and crawled bak up in her lap. She picked meez up and hugged meez even tho me wuz smelly and dirty and sed, ” I Luv You My Preshus!” Her voice sounded like an angel and her paws were so soft and gentle meez just knew everything wuz gunna be okay. Den she took meez over and kleened me up and put meez in a warm bag. She talked tu da first lady a bit and den we left. We drove and drove and meez kep squeekin and squeekin and she wuz singin’ tu meez and talkin’ tu meez all da way. Meez wendid pawdy a few times in da soft bag and had got all dirty again. But she didn’t seem tu care.  She just kept luvin’ on meez. Da lady dat we wuz taken frum never luved on us. So meez fawt dis wuz just wunnerful. Meez purred and purred and squeeked and squeeked, til finally we came tu a stop. I gotta tell you meez  wuz a little worried dat she wuz gunna put meez stinky self out, but she picked meez up and took meez intu a warm house and sed, “This is your forever home, and I’m your forever mommy.”

She kleened meez up again and put down a pawdy box which me used rite away; and she had to kleen meez up again (lots) and den she put down a plate of food. Meez wuz so hungry but me couldn’t eat it. Meez wuzn’t big enuff and had only little teef. When she saw me walk away from da food she picked meez up and looked meez over real good and den she called da first lady on da fone. Meez heard her say, “No, they are not 6 weeks old they’re only 4 weeks old and not ready to be away from their mother.” Oh no meez fawt. She’s gunna take me bak tu dat pawful place. but den me heard, “Yez of course I’m keeping her. I still have bottles so she will be fine. But, they hav tapeworms and not what they’ve been over treated fur and are all purrawbly dehydrated.” Well da nex fing me knew der wuz a yummy bottle fur meez and belly wuz all full again.  Meez wuz purrin’ and happy and sleepin’ in her lap. Meez liked dis furever home wif a furever mommy. But we wuzn’t da only ones dat lived here……..(tu be continued) Til da nex time

Dezi’z Start in Life

Okay now you know how Lexi came tu liv wif mommy so iz time tu tell you how I came tu liv wif both of dem. Mommy and Lexi had just lost a wunnerful service kitty and beluved son and brudder. Lexi by dis time wuz 10 years old and some of da fings she had tu du fur mommy she kuldn’t du alone so mommy needed tu get anudder service kitty. Mommy had alweddy decided she wuld get a working kitty and be thankful fur it, but she wuldn’t give her heart tu da kitty cuz she didn’t want it tu get broken again.

Now a ways up da road der wuz a Ragdoll owner hoo wuz very inexperienced and hoo wusn’t supposed tu breed her kitty. But she wanted tu make some Christmas money so she bred her malnourished seal point queen to a beautiful flame point tommy boy. The result wuz a litter of 11 tiny sick kittens. A few weeks later she advertised da kittens and somepawdy dat saw da state of us kittens reported her tu da authorities and we were taken tu a kill shelter wif no VET on staff. Kitties dat kant eat on der own die. Da shelter wuz told dat we were 6 weeks old so dey put us in a cage and gave us a bowl of kibble, a bowl of water and a litter box. I had been da last kitty born of da 11 and da breeder had told da authorities dat we all had worms so she had used some over da counter wormer on us 3 days in a row and now we all had da runny run runs.

A little later a nice lady came in and looked at all of us and cooed at us and den took somefin’ out of her bag and talked intu it. It seemed like furever but finally anudder lady came in and talked tu da first nice lady and den left. Da first nice lady came over and opened da cage door and put all of us in a basket and took us tu anudder room. Oh my, der wuz da second nice lady again. She wuz sittin’ in da floor Da first nice lady put da basket down and tipped it over and we all came tumblin’ out. (tu be continued) Til da nex time

Lexi Grows Intu a Feisty Kitten

So Lexi came to live with mommy who was a foster mommy fur kitty’s without mommy’s. Two weeks in one of da kitty’s went to heaven. She had suffered brain damage due to da mommy bein’ dead befur she was born and bein’ deprived of oxygen. Lexi, (whose name at dat time was Lana), was just going to be another in a long line of kitty’s dat mommy raised and den found good homes fur. From da beginnin’ tho’ Lexi always wanted to be held and luvved more than anything else. Even when it was time to eat she would rather snuggle with mommy. (mommy didn’t know it but Lexi was stealin’ mommy’s heart). When Lexi and her brofur Cade (the only other kitty to survive their harrowin’ birth) was old ’nuff, mommy took them to da adoption fair. Cade luvved it and he got adopted dat first time. He went to live with a wunnerful family. But Lexi hated it!! She didn’t like all da people and lil’ humans pawin’ at her. So when they returned home, Lexi told da resident cats she didn’t want to go and live anywhere else. Devon (the oldest resident cat) said, “dat’s da way it is kid. Mommy gives you da best start ever and then sends you off to a wunnerful furever home.” Lexi meowed bak to him, ” I’z wanna stay here with you and Lucky (mommy’s other service kitty at da time). I’z want this to be minez furever home and mommy to be minez.” Devon just shrugged and told her dat wasn’t gonna happen and laid down to take a catnap. Bein’ so upset and blaming Devon and Lucky fur da reason she couldn’t stay with mommy she attacked them bof with claws and teefies and pulled out fur and drew blood. Both da boys ran straight to mommy and she cleaned them all up includin’ Lexi; and then sat down wif Lexi to have a talk about her future. Devon said to her as he ran off, “Now you’ve done it. You in trubble now.” Mommy held Lexi and looked at her and said, “What am I gonna do with you lil’ one? You can’t go to a new home actin’ like this,” and mommy cried. Mommy then called da rescue her was with and told them dat Lexi was fightin’ and drawin’ blood so she couldn’t let her be adopted. Da kitty’s could only hear mommy’s side of da call, but dey heard her say, “Absolutely Not!!!!! I raised her from birth and I can’t kill her. She can live with me and the boys, they know to avoid her,” and she hung up da fone. Then she went and piicked up Lexi (den Lana) and said to her, ” Sweetheart you are gonna live with me and the boys furever. I’m going to love you furever and from dis day forward your name will be Laramie Alexandra and we will call you ‘Lexi’. you’re gonna have to get along with the boys tho. And you will learn to be a service cat fur me.”

Lexi’s start in life

Me’s heard this story many times but lots of you haven’t so me’s decided to tell how Lexi and meez came to be with our mommy.

It was a warm spring day in April of 1999. An Egyptian Mau breeder had unknowingly left da back door ajar. A very pregnant queen quickly darted out da door and into da green grass of da back yard. Havin’ never been outside she was curious and wandered around da yard a bit, sniffing and smelling all da new scents. Then she heard a sound dat frightened her. And she ran and climbed over the fence into da neighbors yard. Suddenly a big dog came runnin’ toward her. Bein’ so pregnant she couldn’t run very fast and befur she knew it, da dog had her in his mouth. He began to shake her violently and she cried out in vain. As he shook her back and forth her body convulsed and she began to give birth. One kitten thrown across the yard and slammin’ into da ground. A second kitten thrown into da wooden fence and dropped to da ground. A third and final kitten thrown into da air and landin’ on a rock. And den da kittens felt warmth.  And da smells were different but they didn’t know what had happened or what was goin’ on. Just as quickly da smells changed again and then da air was cold and da kittens began to shake. Suddenly da smells were sweet and da kittens were bein’ warmed and they felt safe. They started to cry out; their tummy’s was hurtin’ and then a warm liquid was in da first kittens mouth. It began tu suckle until it’s tummy stopped hurting and den it slept. They had made their way to mommy and everypawdys lives were about to change.
