Blest Sunday: A Message From Mommy A On Blessings
Hello friends, mommy A here. If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you know, I don’t speak much. It’s not that I don’t have anything to say, but I know, you’d much rather hear and see the girls. I know I would. lol Don’t worry, the girls are great and by the time you read this they will probably be dive bombing from one box to another or lounging peacefully on their much missed and beloved cat tree. I thought I would take our favorite day of the week to explain what’s going on and why we’ve been so hit and miss with our posting and more missing with our visits. Regardless of the following, we are extremely Blest. God knew I could never have gone through the things I have or continue to face alone, and Blest me with the most amazing kitty girls in the universe.
Even tho’ we’ve been in a hotel for the past couple of months, it hasn’t been all lounging around the pool and eating bon bons. As most of you know, I swelled up terribly the first month we were here. During that time, we had quite a few doctor’s visits and a lot of sitting with my legs in the air. Ever the working cats, the girls did their best to nurse me back to health in between sun puddle lounging. Something they don’t get at home, due to the way our apartment sits. Most of this last month has been spent trying to figure out when we were returning home and scheduling appointments for all our utilities to be turned back on. It seems, during construction, they removed all phone jacks, cut all wires to previous cable, internet, and electric service providers. That means, we can’t just move home and plug in. Someone from each of these companies must come out and set everything up as if it were the first time.
And of course, the manager and all our problems, didn’t go away. There’s been calls from her bosses trying to work out fixes and schedule meetings to “start fresh”. I have said that I will attend any meeting they want, but that as long as Mary is the manager, nothing will change. This isn’t the first round of meetings we’ve attended to put an end to her nonsense, and she just gets worse. Anyways, we have yet another meeting with yet another boss next week to try to sort her out. I’m not holding my breath, or letting my guard down. Because one of the first things she did once we were in the hotel, was have the workers cut down my 10 year old wisteria and dig up my entire garden. No other resident’s garden was touched. And, I found that the workers had also raided my storage room and stole items when they put a new door on it.
On Wednesday when we were to move home, unfortunately, we quickly discovered the movers had severely damaged most of our furniture, the hospital bed, lift chair and wheelchair being the most immediately needed. Obviously, we couldn’t go home without a place to sit or sleep. So, we remained in the hotel until today. Thursday and Friday I spent meeting people to asses and try to fix the damage. The moving company “boss” came down Friday and was able to fix the bed. He put a screw through the board of the lift chair as a temporary fix. I told him the chair wasn’t that old and I would not accept a screw through a completely split board as a permanent fix. He said he would make sure “they” have a new board to put on it when “they” come back. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but right now, I just want to go home.
The wheelchair is now lopsided and unsafe, but he said he couldn’t find a reason for it and thinks it’s a hydraulic issue that will sort itself out with use. I agreed to try that with the stipulation that it is still an issue until I sign off on it. I have a beautiful hutch that no longer has any glass shelves. Who knows where they may be. Another tenant watched the glass door to her curio hit the ground on the way into her apartment. And yes, there’s all the things they just didn’t pack up and move in the first place. And of course, I haven’t yet opened a box. lol Yes, I have to laugh or I’d cry. But truly, I have thanked God every day for each and every Blessing.
We’re goin’ home at last.
Yes, I want to cry and do. Yes, I’ve wanted to pull my hair out. Yes, things are not going well in general. But, the swelling in my legs went down and an Anonymous awnty sent me a pair of compression stockings which have kept them from swelling at all this go round. Thanks to Susan, I’ll soon have a second pair to wear while these are being laundered. My precious RaenaBelle had a birthday and Gotchaday. With each I was reminded how Blest I was to have her. Yes, had I not lost Lexi, Raena wouldn’t be here, but let me tell you, she’s one of the most precious kitties I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my life with. And Dezi’s no chopped liver. The girls have rolled with the punches and never once complained. They’ve had limited space, only one litter box between them, and nothing’s happened on schedule. And they’ve remained the same selfless, loving girls as always. They’ve played together and laid together in ways they may never have if not for such close quarters. They’ve said thank you to several who sent gifts and monetary gifts over the past few weeks and have entertained hotel workers and guests alike.
I am disabled and have many health issues. I’m poor and have many financial concerns. But each day I wake up, I have another day to enjoy the Blessings in my life. I and the girls count each and every one of you at the top of that list. Your patience, support, caring and love are as precious to us as water to the thirsty, life to the dying. We’re not sure how long it will take us to get up and running again, so we ask for your patience for just a little longer. And, as Dezi does each week, we’d like to remind you all to take a minute today and every day to Give Thanks for the Blessings in your lives. Thank you for being Blessings in ours.
Love to You All,
Mommy A, Deztinee and RaenaBelle

What a lovely post Audra. You are truly blessed with your precious girls in your life. I love them both but confess to having a crush on beautiful Raena since I first set eyes on her.
You have put up with so much, thank goodness for your belief in God that you will get through. Happy to wait until you are sorted.
Lots of love Vanessa, Bart, Alfie, Bailey and Mollie xxxx

It’s unbelievable what this moving company did. We could understand maybe one or two things getting messed up…but it seems like everything is broken. We just don’t understand it. But we’re glad you can still see a silver lining through it all. And we sure hope things get better from here on out. Sending you many purrs.

While I’m glad you and the kitties are going home, I’m sorry to hear that the movers did not keep your belongings safe and that the manager problems have continued. They should certainly sort this all out for you right away and I sure hope that’s what happens.

That all this has happened is awful and it seems that the movers are simply the cheapest and did not care a whit about your belongings. We send our purrs and prayers of support and do hope everything is better soon.

I am so sorry that all this is happening. All I can do is pray for you which I do daily. I will say I am glad that others had damages too- I don’t mean that in a bad way, I just know how awful the apt. manager is and I figured she had something to do with that. She best replace your wisteria with a good sized one. XO
