Top o the meownin’ to ya’. Me’s been to kiss the blarney stone.
What are you meowin’ ‘bout sissy? I’s thought we were s’posed to be writin’ our Chewy review today.
We are lass, but we’re also celebratin’ our Irish heritage.
I’s know you’re smart sissy, but I’s don’t think we’ve got any Irish heritage.
Sure we do Raena. Some of mommy’s ancestors left the green isle and traveled across the big pond to come to America. And even ifin they hadn’t, everypawdy is a bit Irish on St. Paddy’s day.
But that ain’t till Furiday, sissy. I’s already got me a hat and everythin’.
Me knows Raena, me’s just gettin’ a buntaiste.
A head start Raena. Kittens!!! A head start.
Well why didn’t ya’ just say that?

Never mind Raena, you’re just rainin’ on me’s whale of a time. Anyways, we do have a great purroduct to tell everypawdy ‘bout today. We received the Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Freeze Dried Mixers/Toppers in Rabbit. They come in a 6 ounce bag and cost $9.04. The little nuggets have a cylindrical shape and are fairly hard fur a freeze dried food. Altho’ mommy says she can still easily break them up, or cut them up. ‘Member, we like really small bites. Now, let’s see what Chewy lists as the Key benefits:
A great all natural, freeze-dried topper that’s grain-free and makes any kibble irresistible
Made of high quality, raw nutrition in a convenient and easy-to-serve form
Pure protein freeze-dried protein aids in lean muscle development
Natural ingredients with no artificial colors or preservatives provide optimal nutrient absorption
Nutritious oils and essential fatty acids give your furry friend healthy skin and coat
Rabbit, Pork Liver, Pork Heart, Pumpkinseeds, Carrots, Apples, Butternut Squash, Ground Flaxseed, Montmorillonite Clay, Dried Kelp, Broccoli, Mixed Tocopherols, Apple Cider Vinegar, Salmon Oil, Rosemary Extract, Blueberries, Dried Chicory Root.
3,697 kcal/kg, 1.4 kcal/piece
The ingredient list is purretty simple and doesn’t contain any of the questionalbe ingredients our humans worry ‘bout.
That’s right Raena. Now we’ve covered the ingredient Montmorillomite clay befur, but we’ll just say that among it’s other benefits, it works as a great detoxifier in pet foods by helping to bind with and remove toxins from our bodies. And a little known fact ‘bout pumpkin seeds, is that they can be used as a natural wormer. Now we know that’s not the purrpuss of them in this purrticular food, but we did wanna throw that out there. In other words, mommy’s purretty happy with the ingredient deck of the Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers.
Can we get to the taste testin’ now sissy? And I’s not want the green ones either. Cuz I’s really like that wascally wabbit. They taste great right outta the bag as a treat. And I’s also enjoyed them over mine’s noms with added water. I’s give the Nature’s Variety Freeze dried Rabbit 4 paws up.
Fanks Raena. They’re not really green, as you can see in the foto above and below. Me likes them too. They don’t reconstitute as quickly or as well as some other freeze dried foods, but they are mighty tasty. Me gives them 4 paws up too. They’re also available in chicken and fur doggies. Mommy likes that we like them and as me said befur, she luvs the ingredient list.

Meow Welcome everypawdy. Do you suffer from achy joints? Is old man Arfur-Itis visitin’ ya’ more and more? Do ya’ have a few extra pounds ya’ just can’t seem to get rid of bearin’ down on your spindly legs? Do ya’ look at the top of the cat tree with longin’ and settle fur a lower shelf? Has your got us and go, got up and went? Well, ifin ya’ said yes to any of those questions, we might have just the thing fur ya’. Bein’ purroud Chewy Influencers, we get to try pawsum purroducts every month and tell you all ‘bout them. Today, we’re gonna tell ya’ ‘bout a great joint health supplement, Cosequin.
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. We received compensation in exchange for our honest opinions. Chewy, nor Nutramax are responsible for the content of this post unless otherwise stated. As always, we only bring products we use or have tried and feel would be of interest to you, our friends and readers.
Me is a 7 year old 30 – 35 pound Ragdoll Service Cat. Now me’s not overweight; we Ragdolls are just normally large kitties. There are other breeds that be rather large as well. Thing is, even tho’ we’re not overweight, we’re still luggin’ all that weight around with every jump up or down, climb or zoomy we make. That has an affect on our joints over time, and we might start feelin’ it a little earlier than some of the smaller breeds. But let me tell ya’, doesn’t matter your size, breed, or species, old man Arfur-Itis comes to visit all of us at some time or another, just ask mommy.
Us kitties are notorious fur hidin’ our pains. So what do you do as our human caretaker? Well, ya’ keep an eye out fur those tell tail tale signs: a small limp, not as many zoomies, lower/slower jumps, less play and all ‘round activity and/or more naps. Ifin ya’ see any of these signs, kitty/doggy just might be sufferin’ from old man Arfur-Itis visits’. Of course you should check with your VET anytime you suspect there’s a purroblem. It’s confurmed, you’re beloved anipal is sufferin’ from achy joints and you want to give them somethin’ to ease that pain.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin have been acknowledged by the medical community as bein’ helpful fur those achy joints. Nutramax has several formulas available fur both kitties and doggies. We tried out the Cosequin joint health supplement for cats. We received a box of 30 capsules which cost $8.96. These capsules are intended to be opened and sprinkled on our food. Me will tell ya’ that mommy’s initial reaction was not pleasant. So much of Feline medicine is based on what works fur Canines. Most doggies will eat anything no matter how bad it tastes. Us kitties…Not so much. And ifin you ever taint our favorite noms with medicine? Yeah, we’re not eatin’ that again. MOL Let’s take a look at what Chewy says ‘bout the Nutramax Cosequin Supplement fur Cats.
#1 vet recommended formula provides powerful joint support
With a blend of manganese, glucosamine and chondroitin
Recommended by veterinarians to support bladder health, a major concern for cats
These capsules can be broken apart and sprinkled on or mixed with your cat’s favorite wet food
Helps maintain healthy joints to keep your furry friend happy and healthy
Now what’s contained inside those capsules:
Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Manganese. Other Ingredients: Gelatin, Natural Flavor, Water, Magnesium Stearate, Titanium Dioxide(Color), FD&C Red #3, And FD&C Blue#1.
Now let me break down those active ingredients fur ya’. Each capsule contains a minimum of 1mg of Manganese, 125mg Glucosamine Hydrochloride and 100mg of Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate. Dosage size is based on the size of the animal. Fur me, it takes 2 capsules a day; 10 pounds and under would be 1 capsule. That means the 30 capsules we received would last ‘bout 2 weeks. The box claims it will take ‘tween 4 – 6 weeks to see results. And once the desired response has been achieved the dosage can be cut back to every other day fur maintenance. You may increase the dosage as needed.
Now, let’s get to the testin’. Against mommy’s better judgment, she opened said capsule and started sprinkling on me’s food. She soon realized that like most “sprinkle/mix on food” supplements me would have more medicine than food, and that was only one capsule. So mommy stopped adding after ‘bout a third of the capsule. Then, she gave it to me to eat. Yeah, No. Me wasn’t havin’ any of that. Me instead, stole sis Raena’s food and mommy had to make her another plate. Mommy really wants to make sure me’s joints are healthy, so fur the next dose, mommy mixed me up a little “Butter Spoon”. Mommy offen hides nasty medicine in a dab of butter. Most kitties will gladly lick a “Butter Spoon” clean. So it was no surprise when me licked up that “tainted” butter like it was the last butter on earth.
So me would rate the Cosequin two paws up. Me didn’t take it long enuff to really see any results, so we can’t speak to that, but me did gladly take each “Butter Spoon” dose fur the next 14 days. Ifin you have a really finicky kitty, we definitely suggest you NOT add this supplement to their food, but rather find another medium to administer it, such as butter, baby food, olive oil, maybe a treat pocket or the likes. Raena’s not yet a year old, so she didn’t try the Cosequin at all, but she did have a blast with the box. Cuz mommy was able to get me to take the medicine, she gives it a thumb up. We’ve heard great things ‘bout Cosequin and feel it might actually work ifin you take it as directed.
As me said earlier, Nutramax does make several formulas and sizes. Fur our pawcket book this would get a little pricey over time. But you all know, mommy would do whatever she could to make sure we kitties have what we need. So all in all, we would recommend the Nutramax Cosequin joint supplement fur Cats or Dogs.
As always, we fank Chewy.com fur allowin’ us to try a great purroduct. You all know we luv our Chewy boxes and shop there regularly. We have noms, litter and supplements on auto-ship, so we don’t have to worry ‘bout runnin’ out. And when we get blest with gifts of noms or litter, mommy can go in and skip, cancel or delay any auto-ship we have. Chewy also offurs speedy free shippin’ on all orders of $49.00 and over and a speedy flat rate fur all other orders. They also carry just ‘bout everythin’ you might need fur all the anipals in your household so be sure to check ‘em out. And Chewy has the bestest Customer Service ‘round as far as we’re concerned. Hey, is anypawdy there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. We don’t normally post on Tuesdays, but we have another pawsum Chewy review we wanted to tell you about, so mommy said I’s could post it today. I’s thinkin’ that I’s getting’ purretty good at this bloggin’ thing, wha’d’ya’ think?
Raena!!! Quit askin’ fur compliments!!! It isn’t pawlite.
Whatever sissy. Not pawlite.? I’s’ll have to look that up on google later. Anyways, right now I’s wanna talk ‘bout the pawsum Chewy Blogger Influencer program. Ya’ll know that each month we get the oppurrtunity to try out and tell ya’ll ‘bout some really amazin’ and offen tasty purroducts. ‘Course you also know that we always tell ya’ the truth. We are so grateful that Chewy purreciates our honesty and doesn’t penalize us fur it. That’s a purretty good reason to shop with a place ifin ya’ ask me. And we’re glad you all have come to trust us, cuz we do tell da truth. Mommy says Chewy’s Customer Service is just as pawsum. She says she can shop with absolute confidence, which was really nice when me furst came to live here and she didn’t know what kind of foods I’s was gonna like. Not to worry, when she ordered with Chewy, even ifin she ordered the wrong thing, they would make it right. And you all know how much I’s luvs me a Chewy box. OMC They are the bestest.
Raena, you kinda wrote a disclaimer. And me luvs a great chewy box too. Are you gonna get to the treats any time soon?

Yes, sissy. I’s getting’ there. When I’s was a little girly, mommy bought me these yummy heart treats. No, not the ones shaped like a heart, but real freeze dried heart organ treats. I’s luvved ‘em and so did sissy, but mommy couldn’t ‘member anythin’ ‘bout ‘em. So this month when Chewy offured us the oppurrtunity to try out the Evanger’s Nothing but Natural Beef Hearts Gently Dried Dog and Cat Treats, 3.5 oz. bag, we jumped on it. Furst, let’s go see what Chewy and Evanger’s says ‘bout these heart treats.
Single ingredient beef hearts are nutrient dense treats that can be a treat, training award, food topper, or reconstituted in warm water for 3-5 minutes for a savory snack.
Grain-free, gluten-free product, endorsed by the cRc Kosher for Passover.
No additives or artificial ingredients
Highly palatable treats are perfect for finicky or picky pets
Suitable for both dogs & cats
We always luvs a purroduct that has an ingredient list we can read and doesn’t contain any of those controversial ingredients. These Evanger’s Beef Hearts fit that bill to a tee. Nothin’ in the bag but good ole beef hearts. Now let me tell ya’, there’s a big difference ‘tween Freeze dried and Gentle dried; and ‘tween organ meats and flesh meats. Anyways, mommy opened the bag of Evanger’s hearts and kittens, was she shocked!!! Inside the bag were these long strips that looked a lot like jerkey. Well, you all know sis Dezi and me like little bites, so as we waited rather impatiently, mommy took one of those strips and began to break it up. The beef heart strips were really hard and a little brittle, so they broke fairly easy. Mommy broke a couple of bite size pieces off to give to us and also gave us each a small strip. She thought it might be somethin’ we’d like to chew on ourselves. Ya’ know, kinda like a raw hide chew.
Well, she was wrong. When was the last time you saw a kitty gnawin’ on a raw hide? Mommy says she had a kitty that luvved things like that, but I’s can tell ya’ us girlys’ ain’t into that. Dezi and me both turned our noses up to that option really quickly. So mommy gave us the small bites she had broken off and took away the long strip. I’s sniffed ‘round ‘em fur a few seconds and took a piece in mines mouth and then spit it out. I’s looked at mommy and meowed ‘bout how these beef hearts was a bit on the hard and chewy side. So mommy took one of those strips and soaked it in some water to make it a bit softer. Yeah, I’s didn’t really like that either. What a bummer. Such a pawsum treat, bein’ good fur ya’ and only the one ingredient. But ifin I’s won’t eat it…I’s do have to give up 2 paws up, cuz it’s a quality treat and I’s can ‘magine doggies fur sure likin’ ‘em. Sissy? Do you wanna tell everypawdy what you thought?
Sure Raena, fanks. Like Raena said, the Evanger’s Gently dried Beef Hearts are a good quality treat that can be fed to any of your meat eatin’ pets. They are large strips that are pretty easy to break into smaller pieces. They don’t have much of a smell, and we don’t think they reconstitute very well. ‘Course mommy only let the strip soak for just under 15 minutes (the bag recommended 2-3 minutes). Maybe a little more time would have purrduced a softer treat?. Anyways, me sniffed at the Evanger’s Beef Hearts a little and then turned mes nose up. Me didn’t even put a piece in mes mouth; so me can’t really say much ‘bout how they taste. Me agrees with Raena. These beef hearts would make a great treat fur doggies, and we’re sure there are kitties out there that would like them. We’re just a little spoiled and like a little softer treat. Cuz of the ingredients and the good fur ya’ factor, me will give these treats 1 paw up.
Fanky fank ya’ sissy. Evanger’s also offurs these treats in beef liver, beef tripe, wild salmon, beef lungs and beef tongues. All formulas are on sale right now. Ifin you’d like to try any of these good fur ya’ treats, you can get them fur $6.43 to $9.23. The sizes vary from 2 oz – 4.6 oz bags. Chewy offurs speedy free shippin’ on all orders over $49.00 and speedy flat rate shippin’ on all other orders. Chewy also has a great auto ship program that allows you to save an extra 10% and receive your pets favorites on the schedule you choose. But don’t worry, you can skip, cancel or delay at any time.
Guess I’s oughtta wrap it up now. Check out the Chewy blog hop here to read ‘bout other pawsum purroducts reviewed this month. We hope you’re havin’ a great week.

Meowllo everypawdy, and Monday too. Yep, it’s another miserable Monday but me has somethin’ yummy to tell ya’ ‘bout, so dat makes it a little better, right? As pawrt of da Chewy blogging family we get to try different purroducts each month and tell you all ‘bout them. And this month was no different. Mommy chose one purroduct with each of us in mind. Of course we both would eat either purroduct. Dat bein’ sed, mommy chose fur me da Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Duck Minis Cat Treats.
Me likes duck, so mommy thought this would be a good choice. They are freeze dried in little pellet shapes. Most are bite size fur da majority of kitties; but they are easily broken up into a smaller bite or crumbled to put over a meal. One thing to keep in mind with these purrticular treats is dat they contain other ingredients besides just Duck. Here’s da ingredient list:
Duck (including ground duck bone), turkey, turkey liver, turkey heart, pumpkinseeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, montmorillonite clay, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract, blueberries, dried chicory root
Me is purretty picky ‘bout da size of me’s bite and shape too. Mommy offered me a couple of these as a treat, but me didn’t show any innerest. So she added them to me’s noms and after breaking each bite in two, me gobbled them down. They are purrlenty tasty. They also come in chicken fur those of ya’ dat like a less gamey bird. Here’s some key benefits taken from da Chewy.com site:
- 100% freeze dried raw ingredients including real duck, turkey, carrots and apples
- Great taste and health benefits
- All-natural with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
- Grain-free and gluten-free
- No corn, wheat, soy or fillers
- Only two calories per piece
- Made in the USA
So me gives these all 4 paws up. They taste good and be filling. Now me will say dat you purrobly don’t wanna be addin’ water to these, they don’t reconstitute very well. They be a little spongy, and dat’s after a few hours. Yep, takes dat long. So what did mommy think ‘bout these treats? Let’s ask her.
Thank you baby. I’m really glad you like them. Since changing your diet, I’m trying to keep a variety of proteins in your plate. I like that there are no preservatives, corn, or grains inside them. And I really like that they are made here in the U.S.. As with most cat foods these days they do include a multitude of veggies that you don’t need, but that’s in almost every food these days. So all in all I give the Instinct Raw Boost Minis Duck treats 2 thumbs up.
Fank you mommy. Dat’s rare fur you to give somethin’ both fumms up; so me guesses me will be havin’ more of these in da future. You can get your own at Chewy.com. They be on sale right now. They come in a 2.25 oz bag, and da duck be $7.19 and da chicken is $7.99. Course ifin you add them to your auto ship you can save a little more. They also make these fur da doggies. As always, Chewy offers speedy free shipping fur all orders over $49.00 and a low flat rate fur all orders less than $49.00. And Chewy has da bestest Customer Service reps ‘round. You’re never stuck with a purroduct your anipal won’t eat or use, so you can shop with confidence. You can also edit your auto ship at any time. Me’s joinin’ up with da Golden Woofs fur da Chewy blog hop where you can find all da Chewy bloggers monthly reviews.
Disclaimer: We received free products in exchange for our honest opinion. Dat didn’t sway our review at all. Neither Chewy nor Nature’s Variety are responsible for the content of this post. We only bring you items we use or have tried and think would be of interest to you our friends and readers.
Well me will wrap it up now, me’s gotta go eat. Da Instinct Raw Boost minis were a big hit. Ifin you’re tryin’ to switch your kitty from kibble to somethin’ more healthy, these would make a great transitional offering. Course they would also make a great treat.
Do you (or your anipal) like freeze dried treats and food?
Do you (or your anipal) like game birds like duck?
Till da next time……………………………..Be Blest!!!

Well it’s Monday and time fur an update on Buddy’s 30 day challenge. As part of da Chewy bloggin’ furmily we were given da oppurrtunity to try a pawsum new cat food. Since it was kibble and you all know mommy won’t give me kibble ever again, we asked ifin it would be okay to let Buddy take it. So after we got him all signed up and received da noms, his challenge began. It’s been really cold and wet here lately so mommy trekkin’ up to mr. W’s to take fotos has been really funny to watch. You know since da wheelchair’s electric she has to walk up there. And of course we have armadillos and possums so there’s purrlenty of holes fur her cane to fall into and make mommy wobble all over da place. MOL Anyways, we’s here to talk ’bout Buddy today. Ifin you missed our furst posty, you can read it here. We told ya’ dat Buddy doesn’t eat a great quality food on a regular basis so da Holistic Blend Chicken and Salmon dry kibble cat food was gonna be a huge step up in his diet. All paws and fingers were crossed dat he would eat it. Mommy scooped out ’bout a cup of it to let us try it as a treat. Mommy had told mr. W to watch fur changes in Buddy’s activity levels, coat feel and look, stools and general overall well being; and to report back anything he noticed. And of course mommy subjects him to a thorough once over exam everytime she goes up there…Buddy, not mr. W. Mommy also made mr. W implement scheduled feedings and to use da resealable zipper to keep da food fresh fur da whole month. So now dat da business is outta da way let’s get on with da good stuff.
Did Buddy like da food and was he eatin’ it? Well, let’s ask him.
Buddy: Fanks Dezi. Let me say furst off dat I’s really likin’ this scheduled meal time. I didn’t at furst cuz I’s was used to nibblin’ whenever I wanted. But hey, this scheduled thing means da food in my bowl is always fresh and tasty. And I gotta tell ya’ this Holistic Blend cat food is purretty nommy. It sure hits da spot. And I’s been feelin’ better too. My skin hasn’t been as itchy lately, and my furs seem lots softer. Even awnty Audra sed my furs felt and looked better. I’s even been more playful with my daddy lately. And daddy sed I’s seem to be sheddin’ a little less too. My litterbox habits haven’t changed, least not so dat anypawdy would notice. But I’s do like da food really well.
Thanks Buddy, glad you be likin’ da noms. And yes, mommy talked ’bout how your furs be lookin’ much better these days. She also sed you looked so cute waitin’ fur mr. W to put your noms in your bowl. Don’t’cha’ just hate it when you’re waitin’ to eat and mommy’s takin’ fotos? Da noms be so close you can smell ’em and almost taste ’em, but there she goes, snap, snap, snappin’ away. Mommy sez you was really patient and unlike me didn’t holler at her once to hurry up. Me still hasn’t gotten to try them, cuz mommy just hates dat da furst ingredient is chicken meal ‘stead of chicken, and then rice. Chicken is in da list, mommy just likes it to be da furst ingredient when da name sez “chicken”. Anyways, mommy talked with mr. W and he sed da pawdee box stench seemed to be da same. Da reason we mention dat is cuz one of da claims made by Holistic Blend is dat it “stimulates the breakdown of ammonia to reduce urine and stool odor.” However Buddy’s overall appearance seems to be much better. We’ll update you again at da end of da 30 days and let ya’ know if anything changed. We should note dat ‘stead of a slow transition, mr. W switched Buddy to da Holistic Blend food by serving it alone and taking away his other food. Buddy did start eating the Holistic Blend immediately without any tummy upsets. So based on his immediate acceptance we would say dat it is very palatable.
You can find da Holistic Blend at Chewy fur $14.99 fur a 3 pound bag and $32.99 fur a 10 pound bag. They also make a grain free turkey option fur cats, and they have canine formulas as well. Chewy has lots of great purroducts fur all your anipal furmily members, so take a look around while you’re there. And they have a great auto ship purrogram so you never run out as well as speedy low cost or free shipping. All orders of $49.00 and over ship furee. And let me tell ya’ they have da bestest Customer Service ’round. You’re never stuck payin’ fur sumthin’ your anipal won’t eat, so you can order with confidence.
Disclaimer: As a #ChewyInfluencer we received the Holistic Blend in exchange fur our honest opinions. Neither Chewy nor Holistic Blend are responsible fur da content of our posts nor did free sway our opinions. We only bring you products we use or have tried and think would be of interest to you our friends and readers.
